Using Play to Assess Play Therapy Supervisees
This 3 hour workshop utilizes a variety of play therapy interventions to help supervisors assess those they supervise in many different ways. Using play therapy interventions in this manner is a wonderful way to teach supervisees interventions to use with their own clients and also allows the supervisor to assess developmental, education, and experience levels; self-awareness; mental health & self-care strategies, ability to conceptualize a case; assessment skills; and play therapy competencies of the supervisee.
Learning Objectives: After successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- List the 4 main therapeutic powers of play and state how they apply to play therapy supervision.
- State 5 areas that are important to assess play therapy supervisees and why those areas are important.
- Identify at least 5 key play therapy supervision interventions to assess play therapy supervisees.
